Features of the Transformation of the Historical Space

Abstract

In the proposed article, the task is to disclose the peculiarities of the transformation of a single historical space for a certain period of its historical formation. The initial study of the subject of research presents an analysis of the conceptual basis of the historical space. The analysis is based on the theoretical views of prominent domestic and foreign scientists who have studied the geographical and social environmental aspect in the synthesis with the development of historical space. In this regard, issues of geographical determinism, its conceptual definition and its influence on the subject of research are touched upon.

The main goal of this article is to study the specific features of the transformation of a specific town-planning territorial unit in the course of its historical formation - the environmental spatial change over a certain period of historical time. At the same time, the hidden features of the transformation are investigated and disclosed by the example of environmental spatial changes in the structure of a single real historical object. Such an object is the Yakutsk Fortress of the 17th century, which emerged as the original historical basis of the city of Yakutsk.

A brief town-planning analysis of the historical paths of the origin and development of the Yakutsk Fortress in the context of the subject of research with the display of historical photographs, diagrams, drawings is given. The content of the article contains analytical graphical material on the scaled spatial comparison of the past and the present using the example of studies of architectural and town-planning parameters of the Yakutsk Fortress, which is the historical beginning of the largest northern populated place on the permafrost, in the city of Yakutsk.
