The article describes the archetypal features of the large urban space. First of all, that is a regular unevenness of the city structure, where central, median and peripheral zones were specified. Second of all, that is a combination of monotony and diversity in each zone. This appears in the city planning frame, building morphology, density, and height. Modernism in general and the dictate of construction business destroyed this historic system and broke the urban stability.
