Trends in the Architecture of Belarus at the End of the XX – Beginning of the XXI Century

Abstract

The article describes the processes in the architecture of Belarus at the end of the XX – beginning of the XXI century.
Modern approaches to the development of cities, the formation of a living environment, changes in the artistic, symbolic structure, and style of architecture are considered. Attention is focused on the problems associated with the enlargement of the scale of residential formations, the inconsistency of strategies for the development of urban areas, the demolition of significant architectural objects, the violation of internationally accepted approaches to reconstruction, and new construction in the historical environment.
