Abstract

The article discusses the features of the ICOMOS recommendation document "Salala Guidelines for Archaeological Public Sites", where special attention is paid to the possibility of visiting archaeological parks.

There is no definition in the domesticlegislation: "archaeological park". Archaeological heritage sites are characterized by a special method of study: excavations or discoveries are one of the main sources of information, and this makes archaeological monuments different from other "cultural heritage sites.

Recently, the term "actualization of cultural heritage" or "interpretation of heritage" has been actively used. And the issue of reconstruction at the present stage is often opposed to the criterion of "authenticity".

To successfully save this category of objects, you must: introduction and definition of the terms "archaeological park" and "archaeological ruins" into thelegislation of the Russian Federation; further improvement of the concepts of cultural resources management in terms of archaeological heritage; more active consideration of the presence of archaeological monuments in the eLaboration of urban deveLopment of settlements.
