On the Question of the Addition of the Seismic Microdistricting Map

Abstract

Construction in seismic areas requires consideration and implementation of additional measures aimed at reducing the risks of a possible earthquake. The data of engineering and geological surveys are of great importance in the design. One of the factors determining the category of seismicity of the site are soils characterized by certain physical and mechanical properties, as well as the geological structure of the soil column, which provides information about the height (depth) of the layers. In the article, using the example of Vladikavkaz, measures are being considered to reduce the magnitude of the seismic site by taking into account the capabilities of various soil layers that are included in one or another considered site. Taking into account the characteristics of the soil strata and supplementing the seismic microdistricting map with these data will allow for the design of buildings and structures, as well as for the development of urban planning plans, to take into account the nature of soils and suggest possible options.
