Abstract

The specifics of the first officially approved at the state level general plan of Yaroslavl (plan of regulation of the city development), created in the first years of Soviet power in Russia (1918-1924) are considered: the peculiarities of the historical context of time and place, the sequence of actions and stages of development of a new urban planning document, as well as urban planning principles formulated in the process of designing the general plan. The significance of this urban planning "lesson" for professional activity is analyzed.
