During the wartime of the twentieth century, standards were developed for the design of housing, but, first of all, temporary. For the first time, the article analyzes the provisions of GOST 1039-41 «Temporary dormitories. Design standards».
The analysis of one of the stages of the formation of domestic rationing of residential buildings (the development of types of objects and their typological characteristics), the influence of socio-political and economic factors is important for understanding the conditions of formation and subsequent development of the regulatory framework as a whole.
A comparison is made of individual parameters of barracks for workers in pre-revolutionary Russia, as well as the actual state of housing security per inhabitant in the USSR - in the pre-war and war periods.
