Main Article Content
Abstract
The article proposes four directions for the formation of new centers of attraction in the environment of historical cities: local public space in the structure of the established city center; large multifunctional public space based on historical heritage – development of the city center; recreational and leisure space with fragments of historical heritage; a new object as a center of attraction in the historically established environment. The project testing is presented on the example of final qualification works completed at the Faculty of Architecture of the Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov.
The design objects are located in Ryazan, Ivanovo, Petrozavodsk and Kaluga. In all design situations, depending on their urban
planning and architectural features, options for revitalization of the architectural and historical environment and the choice of
the appropriate direction of architectural, urban planning, functional development of new centers of attraction are considered.
