Rational Design Concept of the Combined Arch System with Inclined Rods
Main Article Content
Abstract
One of the solutions to the stressed-skin roof decks’ rationalization problem is the use of arched combined systems. The article concentrates on the research of a combined arch system with inclined rods. The main attention is paid to the design concepts’ improvement by searching for a rational number of arch rib panels and ties, analyzing the arch system’s operation and establishing strain-stress dependencies when changing the number of rib panels and ties, searching for prestressing forces of cables that allow reducing the arch rib cross section. Based on the results of numerical calculations in the SCAD software, a rational number of panels and ties, prestressing forces of cables, and a cross-sectional profile of the arch rib were determined, which contribute to a reduction in metal intensity and more efficient use of bearing of the arch system with inclined ties.
