Forms of spatial interaction of religious and high-rise buildings in the architectural environment of cities (foreign experience)

Abstract
The article is devoted to the forms of spatial interaction of cult objects and high-rise buildings in the architectural environment of cities. The authors pay attention to the fact, that before the appearance of the first skyscrapers, temples, bell towers, minarets and other religious buildings served as architectural accents, many of which today are objects of cultural heritage. Some of them have lost the role of unambiguous dominants in the environment of modern cities. In different countries and cities are being worked out, the various schemes of their interaction with modern architecture, including high-rise buildings. This article suggests that it is necessary to look for ways to integrate historical cathedrals and high-rise buildings Issues related to the peculiarities of the construction of new religious buildings and complexes in a highly urbanized environment are considered.
Separate attention is paid to the best world practices in integrating the religious function into the structure of multifunctional
high-rise buildings, which is demonstrated on examples related to both the Christian and Islamic faiths.
