Abstract
The article presents new details of the architectural and construction practice of V. Popov and S. Lopatin during their studies at VKhUTEMAS. A List has been compiled and a description of the projects implemented by them for Samarkand is given based on RGALI's personal files and publications in the newspaper. The objects still exist today. Students combined responsible work on the implementation of their projects with studying at VKhUTEMAS. The experience of future members of the Association of Urban Architects (ARU), V. Popov and S. Lopatin, formed an important introductory period for upcoming ARU projects in Central Asia. It was revealed that the basis of the built Therapeutic building of the Republican Hospital in Samarkand was based on a joint competitive project of architects A. Grinberg and N. Hoffman-Pylaev.
