Conceptualization of Derivative Concepts of the Main Band of Settlement

Abstract
The theoreticaL deveLopment of the concept of the "Main settlement strip on the territory of the Russian Federation", used in the nationaL geography of settlement, as weLL as in urban pLanning and district pLanning, aLLowed us to substantiate the vaLidity of the appLication of a number of derived concepts, such as the habitabLe zone of Russian Federation, the resource zone of the Russian Federation, protected areas of the Russian Federation. These eLements may prove promising for the purposes of spatiaL macrozoning of the country's territory. In this case, the habitabLe zone of Russian Federation is considered as a territory designed to ensure sustainabLe socio-demographic reproduction of the popuLation of the Russian Federation. The basic criteria for the aLLocation of a zone of habitation in the country are outLined. A brief functionaL description of the three macrozones under consideration is given.
