In Search of Urban Identity: Architectural and Landscape Approaches to the Formation of a Unique Urban Environment
Main Article Content
Abstract
The solution to the problem of preserving the identity of the urban landscape is based on an integrated approach that includes the study and rethinking of historical, cultural, social and environmental factors that influence the formation of urban identity. The article reflects the search for modern approaches to the creation and reconstruction of urban public spaces, and formulates five architectural and landscape principles: semantic equivalence, interpretativeness, translocality, environmentalism and conservation, based on sustainable relations between nature and society, the preservation of historical and cultural heritage and the search for a new sociocode. The application of these principles in urban development concepts can become an alternative to traditional approaches to urban planning and lay the foundation for the formation of a unique urban environment.
