S.V. Bezsonov in Russian Historical and Architectural Science. On the 140th Anniversary of the Scientist. Part 1: Pedagogical Work

Abstract
The study is dedicated to the activities of S.V. Bezsonov (1885-1955), who headed the historical and architectural
department at the Moscow Architectural Institute for a third of a century.The author of numerous publications of the first half of the 20th century, he is known for his encyclopedic course “History of Russian Architecture” (1951) and a series of books on the classicism of Moscow and Kaluga. In the scientific publishing program of the All-Union Academy of Architecture, his monograph “Arkhangelskoye Estate near Moscow” (1937) was of particular value; it was repeatedly reprinted, continuing to attract the attention of specialists and connoisseurs of Russian art. The first article about Bezsonov's creative biography is dedicated to his anniversary. The work shows the diversity of his scientific works, including not only published ones, but also curious manuscripts from domestic archives and awaiting publication.
