The Concept of Favorable Human Living Conditions in the Architecture of Public Buildings and Spaces

Abstract

The article summarizes generally accepted ideas about favorable living conditions for humans in urban space, based on the provisions of regulatory documents in the field of urban planning, architecture of public buildings and spaces, scientific publications on the research topic. The criteria of favorable conditions determine the parameters of safety and comfort, which have a fundamental impact on the architectural formation of a continuum that unites external and internal spaces based on their dominant function. General approaches to the spatial planning solution of public buildings and spaces providing favorable
conditions for social processes of movement, communication and trade are proposed.
