Abstract

Based on the known theoretical developments of the problems of the territorial organization of society, a structural model of the territorial socioecological system has been developed, which has been adapted for the purposes of territorial and spatial planning. The system is represented by the social and anthropogenic subsystems of the territory and its natural environment. The anthropogenic subsystem is formed by a set of territorial complexes of various purposes. The territorial complexes of various administrative-territorial divisions are considered as the object of territorial and spatial planning. The long-term factors of the development of the territorial complex of the Russian Federation have been considered. The concept of the country's Unified Territorial Complex has been introduced.
