Artistic Features of Modern High-Rise Architecture of Sharjah

Abstract

The article outlines some topical aspects of artistic development of the modern high-rise architecture of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. Various socio-cultural and political factors that have a significant impact on the formation of the modern high-rise town-planning structure of the emirate capital are shown. The main features/techniques of the compositional organization of new high-rise objects in Sharjah, defining the present artistic appearance of the city, are identified. The characteristic regional/national features of modern high-rise image building of Sharjah are revealed, and the main figurative themes of its artistic development are also reflected. It is shown that ambitious motivation is a powerful impetus for the emergence and implementation of expensive high-rise urban projects in the capital of the emirate. The analysis of the artistic features of image high- rise objects in Sharjah is made on the basis of the original author's photo material, which has not been published before.
