Iconic Signs in the Theory of Postmodernism Architecture

Abstract

The article discusses the concept of "iconic" in the architecture of postmodernism. The analysis of the philosophical and cultural bases for its emergence. The process of its use by various authors with a description of their interpretations of this concept is considered. Its fundamental meaning in Plato's theories is studied. The article reveals key features of one of the main ideologemes of the postmodernism style, which is important for the formation of a holistic and comprehensive understanding of this phenomenon within the theory of architecture and related sciences.
