On the question of the Periodization of the development of architecture of industrial and Residential development of Cities in Central Russia

Abstract

In the historical industrial cities of Central Russia, industrial and residential buildings occupy an important place in the structure of their architectural heritage. Despite the not-so-long period of its development (and this is one and a half to two centuries), it includes buildings of different civiLizationaL and technological epochs with a wide variety of typological and architectural, and artistic solutions. The periodization of the development of industrial and residential development in the cities of the region, according to the author, is unthinkable without interrelations with both the technological and organizational development of production, and with the social, cultural, and political development of regional society. The periodization proposed in the article more accurately than other periodizations reflects the boundaries of epochs, periods, and stages of the formation of typological, constructive, stylistic solutions of the considered development. It more clearly reflects its regional features, which are important for understanding the value of its objects.
