Abstract

Among the few works for Moscow, completed by the famous St. Petersburg architect Marian Stanislavovich Lаlewicz
(1876–1944) is his work on the design and construction of the State Plant of Military Self-Propelled Guns complex near Mytishchi
near Moscow and the Podlipki railway station (modern Korolev). The master continued work on the general plan of the workers'
settlement at the plant, begun in 1916 by architects L.A. Serk and V. Yastrzhembsky, and in 1917–1918 he created his own
version of the layout and projects for residential and public buildings, which remained unrealized. According to the plan of
M.S. Lalewicz, two two-story dormitories for single workers were built, conceived as communal houses. The central part of the
buildings, made of brick and concrete, was intended for public functions, while the side wooden log outbuildings housed living
rooms. The buildings became the basis for the historical development of the Moscow region science city of Korolev for almost a
century, and the State-owned plant of military self-propelled guns gave life to the modern complex of buildings of the Rocket
and Space Corporation "Energia".
