Goldenberg (RGAE), as well as documents of MOVANO (RGALI), reconstructs the history of the competition for the Moscow planning project 1932. These documents helped to clarify many previously unclear aspects of the competition. Goldenberg in 1933. It was also revealed that over the projects in the first half of 1932, in addition to the previously known seven brigades of soviet and foreign specialists, worked one more team of soviet architectsled by E.G. Weis. At the same time, this team also carried out the project of planning the Stalin district of Moscow. Particular attention in the article was paid to the analysis of manuscripts and graphics revealed among the materials of P.I. Goldenberg. It allowed to evaluate from qualitatively new positions to assess the role played by this then very young architect in the analysis of projects, submitted to the competition, and to identify him as the author of conditional schemes of competitive projects. The surviving originals of these schemes are published in the article for the first time. In addition to introducing new materials into the scientific circulation, the article also allows us to assess from qualitatively new positions the role that was given to competitive projects in the search for ways of Development of Moscow, and the attitude to the competition on the part of the Architectural and Planning Moscow Council.
