Abstract

n the last years of the World War II and the period of post-war reconstruction, with a huge rise in patriotic sentiment, the Soviet state and society made efforts to recreate the destroyed cities on a new basis, eradicating all the shortcomings in their planning and development, and to make them better, more beautiful, more comfortable for living. The article briefly describes how the city of the near future was seen in the early years of developing projects for the restoration of cities destroyed by the war.
