The Influence of the Central Ring Road on the Urban Development of the Moscow Region

Abstract
The article presents an assessment of the impact of the construction of the Central Ring Road (CCAD) on the Moscow region urban development.. The goals, objectives and features of the design of the Central Ring Road, including as a world- class transport project, are analyzed. Based on the approved master plans of urban districts of the Moscow region, the main indicators of urban development of the territory in the 20 km zone of influence of the Central Ring Road for the period up to 2040 are calculated. The planned urban planning transformations of the zone of influence of the Central Ring Road provide for its balanced development in the future as a whole. It is emphasized that the Central Ring Road fulfills its main task - to create conditions for the movement of urban development activity from the near belt to the middle part of the Moscow region and the transition to a new model of socio-economic development based on high mobility of the population. In the conditions of increasing general economic uncertainty in the country and geopolitical risks, possible urban planning and environmental risks of the functioning of the Central Ring Road for the Moscow region have been identified.
