Abstract

Written for the 100th anniversary of the Teacher's birth and giving a student tribute to Maestro, the article demonstrates the relevance of the inherent principles of architectural design education in the modern system. Relying on a specific visual series of original author slides of the course "Fundamentals of design of equipment for residential and public buildings", which was read by him in the 1988-1989 academic year, a trainee of the course finds some parallels in design culture of the XXI century. Comparing yesterday's and today's images, justifying his choice, the author reveals the constant and progress, determines the vector of "designs" development; emphasizes the role of personality in the education of student artists. Defining the future with hislectures, G.B. Minervin introduced students to the world of the modern project culture, expanded their horizons, acquainting them with personalities, demonstrating the possibilities of their professional activities from graphic design to urban equipment. The represented basic reference points of environmental creativity are directed to the architect-designer, the broad-profile designer. Affecting the initial period of the "Design of Architectural Environment" Department formation in the late 80's., article makes a modest contribution to the recording of its history.
