Chinese Hospital Architectural Design Strategy from the Epidemic Prevention Perspective
Main Article Content
Abstract
In China, prevention of the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) has achieved significant results. The health care system is gradually improving the practice of regular pandemic prevention, where hospitals are the main element. During the outbreak of the pandemic, hospitals played an important role in saving lives and improving public health. However, some deficiencies have been identified in the design and planning systems of hospitals. The article presents the provisions of the strategy for the design of general hospitals, taking into account the "combination of normal mode and pandemic mode", based on the principles of epidemic prevention. The strategy assumes that the design of the hospital layout should be sustainable and flexible, quickly switch to the "pandemic mode" while considering the functions and operating costs of the "normal mode". The article examines the issues related to increasing the efficiency of the use of hospital resources and their integration for future emergencies based on the scheme of dividing the main flows (patients, medical staff, materials), zoning schemes for emergency landscape design and intelligent systems1.
