Abstract
The country has set the task of implementing a program for the construction of inter-university campuses — important resources for the development of both the educational complex and the urban environment of the regional capital. The article traces the evolution of the development of universities, their influence on the cities of placement. ТНе issues of the current state of the university infrastructure, proposals for the placement of new campuses as part of the projects of the master plans of cities are highlighted.
