Frederiks House in the Development of the Imperial Livadia Ensemble

Abstract
The article is aimed at eliminating the lacuna of knowledge about the valuable objects of historical and cultural heritage of the early 20th century. The Fredericks House is one of the main architectural monuments of Livadia, although the historical and architectural research is conducted for the first time. Its artistic significance, place and role in the system of the imperial palace and park ensemble are revealed. The key issues are emphasized: the conformity of the layout and composition to the purpose of the building and the requirements of the order, the search for an artistic image and work on variants of facades, the peculiarities of style. Original methods of the building architecture, reflection of the customer's individuality in it are shown thanks to the documentary reconstruction of the construction idea, analysis of the project drawings. New archival written sources are introduced, previously unknown graphic materials on the project of architect A.A. Biber are published.
