Optimization of Parking Space in Dense Urban Areas
Main Article Content
Abstract
Increase in the level of motorization of the population and density of construction, changes in the functional use of buildings and structures in the areas adjacent to urban roads contribute to the growth of traffic intensity and require an increase in the capacity of the city's street and road network. Unauthorized parking of vehicles on the carriageway of streets leads to a decrease in their capacity, and in the “rush hour” and to an increase in the accident rate, which necessitates the organization of parking space, especially in the central districts of large cities. The authors have substantiated the location of parking and the required number of parking spaces depending on the size of cars, axial load, traffic intensity in the parking areas, and determined the need for parking spaces.
